| Mamata meets Governor, wants fresh talks on Singur : - September 20, 2008 (Delhi) - Kolkata (PTI): Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Friday met West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi seeking his intervention to start fresh talks with the state government to resolve the Singur issue.
Emerging from the 80-minute meeting with Gandhi, Banerjee asked the government to implement the agreement she had reached with Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee during the Governor-interevened talks on September 7 under which land to be returned to "unwilling" farmers was to be from the Tata Motors' car project at Singur. |
